Orlando is the first city of Central Florida. It is noted for its year round good weather and excellent transport and communication links. Orlando science centre is crowned by an observatory and features laser shows and planetarium presentations.

Orlando is also within easy reach of the gulf (west) and east coast beaches. The not-to-be-missed Cypress gardens is a short drive south. North of Orlando lies lush countryside, stud farms and areas untouched by tourism. Try Mount Dora, on the shores of Lake Dora, 20 miles north-east of Orlando for 'Old Florida'. An hour's drive north-west of Orlando is Ocala. Numerous stud farms are found here as well as Silver Springs (Florida's original theme park). This has the largest number of artesian wells in the world.

Florida has national forests, national parks and national wildlife refuges containing numerous land and sea animals. You'll be amazed by the number of places you can escape to within one hour's drive of the villa. There are various airboat and boat tour companies which will take wheelchairs; so if you wish to be adventurous, go to the places where you can see natural Florida at its  best.
